TOPIC: PURITY AND PUBERTY

TEXT: ACTS 21:8-9

8 And the next day we that were of Paul’s company departed, and came unto Caesarea: and we entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, which was one of the seven; and abode with him.

9 And the same man had four daughters, virgins, which did prophesy.

MEMORY VERSE: “And the same man had four daughters, virgins, which did prophesy” (ACTS 21:9).

MESSAGE:

Philip was an evangelist in Caesarea and had four beautiful daughters who kept themselves pure for they were virgins. They are examples of godly girls who are dedicated to God and supported the ministry of their father. Interestingly, they were also prophetesses. Today, God is calling you to keep yourself pure before Him like these young virgins.

Puberty is the process of biological, psychological and social changes in an adolescent. Boys begin between the age of 12 and 16 years, while girls begin theirs between 10 and 14 years.

During puberty, boys and girls go through many internal and external changes. This is the stage when they reach their adult height and body proportions. You need to understand that this stage can be very challenging for young people.

How do you handle this stage of puberty as a Christian? You need to reassure yourself that it is a normal process of maturing. Confide in your parents and Christian leaders who can answer questions that bother you. Avoid those who can misled you to defile yourself and lose your virginity.

QUOTE: Keep yourself pure.

CHALLENGE: Avoid those who can mislead you.

PRAYER: Lord, see me through this stage of my life.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
