Topic: Remembering God’s Word

Text: Psalm 119:10-16

10With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.

11Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

12Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes.

13With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth.

14I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches.

15I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.

16I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.

Key Verse: “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” Psalm 119:11

Message

God’s word represents both His revelation in general and His commandments and promises. God’s word is in the Holy Bible from Genesis to Revelation. It is precious and of inestimable value. The word of God is not meant to be taken as one of those books we use once and keep on the shelf. It is the daily tonic needed for our all round development. The word of God speaks to every area of human life.

Therefore, your heart must be determined to bring it to your remembrance every day. It may not be possible or easy to know or understand everything from Genesis to Revelation. However, there are tips that will help you to put God’s word into remembrance.
1. Be determined to always listen attentively when the word of God is being read or taught.
2. Seek to understand the word.
3. Meditate on the precept/instruction by thinking deeply on what you read.
4.Commit God’s word to memory as much as you can.
5. Put into practice all the instructions you received from listening to and reading the Bible.
6.Share the word with others.
When you constantly put God’s word into remembrance, you will enjoy great benefits.

Prayer for today: Help me Lord to always remember Your word and obey it.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
