DCLM Sincere Milk 23 January 2022 — Resurrection of the dead

DCLM Sincere Milk 23 January 2022 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Resurrection of the dead

TOPIC: RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD

MATTHEW 28:1-10

1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.

2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.

3 His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:

4 And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.

5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.

6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

7 And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.

8 And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.

9 And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.

10 Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.

Key Verse: “He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay”  (MATTHEW 28:6).

MESSAGE:

He’s alive! He’s risen! He’s no longer in the grave! He’s now in heaven! Some people till now do not believe that Christ is risen from the dead, they believe that He is still in the grave and that the news of His resurrection is false. Are you one of those who do not believe in the resurrection of Christ, or you never even believed that Christ died? It is not too late to know about the resurrection of Christ. Christ’s resurrection has brought to us salvation and the lively hope of everlasting life in heaven.

The resurrection of Christ gave us assurance hat there will be resurrection of the dead. It is recorded in the Bible that Lazarus was brought back to life. Though his resurrection made some rulers unhappy, but it still fulfilled the purpose of resurrection. Through His resurrection, many people believed in God and were saved. So as frends of Jesus, we should tell people about the resurrection of Christ so that people will come to the knowledge of the truth and be saved. As you also believe in Christ, one day, you will rise from the dead to meet Him in the sky. You will be taken to heaven where you will live in everlasting enjoyment.

Prayer:
Lord, let Your resurrection power do wonders in my life.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
