TOPIC: REWARDS FOR OVERCOMERS
TEXT: REVELATION 3:11-13
11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
13 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
MEMORY VERSE: “Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown” (REVELATION 3:11).
MESSAGE:
Rewards go to people who work hard and become achievers. It is the same both in the secular and in the spiritual. Caleb was rewarded with the land of Hebron because of the heroic role he played in the conquest of Canaan. The Lord Jesus declared, “For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works” (Matthew 16:27).
Apostle Paul laboured for the Lord, preaching the gospel all over Asia during his missionary journeys. He suffered various hardships ranging from hunger, shipwreck, to persecution, such as beatings and imprisonment. In spite of these, he never backed down. Before he died, he declared, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness…” (2 Timothy 4:7-8a).
My young friend, how is the race like? Tough? Are you thinking of giving up to discouragement, temptations and other challenges? Look up to Jesus and keep your Christian experiences. Fight on to obtain the overcomers’ rewards.

CHALLENGE: Faith in God grants us victory.
PRAYER: O God, help me to walk over the storms of life.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
