DCLM Sincere Milk 14 November 2023 — Run away from Gangs

DCLM Sincere Milk  14 November 2023 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Run away from Gangs

Topic: Run away from Gangs

Text: Proverbs 1:7-15

7The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

8My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:

9For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.

10My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.

11If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:

12Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:

13We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:

14Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:

15My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:

Key Verse: “My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.” Proverbs 1:10

Message

A gang is a group of people (boys and girls) or organization formed for the purpose of doing evil. A member of a gang is called gangster. Gangsters work together to do evil or commit crimes such as immorality, ritual killings, cultism, stealing, bullying, violence, exam malpractices and other criminal activities; these are works of darkness. God does not want any of His children to have anything to do or join any of these evil and criminal gangs. Gangs make unsuspecting pupils or students to join them by enticing them with money, gifts, promises of protection, popularity and other things that can easily draw or attract the person they are trying to catch.

Never join them, they are evil, they are agents of the devil What are the results of joining them? (i) Separation and loss of fellowship with God. (ii) Such a child is given to evil doing which brings God’s judgment. (iii) A gangster will miss the rapture and miss heaven. How does a child avoid becoming a gangster (i) Reject any invitation to join gangs. (ii) Make sure you are a true friend of Jesus. (iii) Be in fellowship with other friends of Jesus. (iv) Read your Bible every day. (v) Be watchful and prayerful. (vi) Be assured of God’s protection every time. Jesus Christ has promised never to leave you. Jesus is always by your side to provide all your needs.

Prayer for today: Oh Lord, keep me and give me grace to say NO to all evil association.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
