7Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler,

8Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.

KEY VERSE: “Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.” Proverbs 6:8

Message

Saving is a system of keeping part of our income for later use. Whether your parents or other people give you money for personal use, or whether you do chores to earn money, what you do with the money is up to you. It is probably best to keep a balance between spending money and saving it. By keeping money for a while (saving), you can make sure you have money when you need it. If you spend all of it straight away on buying things you don’t really need, you may not have enough when you want to buy something special. By learning to save now, even if it is only a small amount you will be starting a good habit.

If you want to use money wisely, don’t rush into buying things. Rather wait and ask the Lord to help you make a good decision. But remember Jesus tells us not to store up treasure on earth (Matthew 6:19). This means that we should be careful not to heap up treasure- whether money or things – that could become more important to us than having eternal life. Money and things won’t last forever; what is far more important are the things we do to store up treasure in heaven.

PRAYER: Father, give me wisdom to use my income profitably.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
