MEMORISE: What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 1 Corinthians 6:19
READ: Deuteronomy 23:12
Thou shalt have a place also without the camp, whither thou shalt go forth abroad:
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Mark 13:14-37, Deuteronomy 14-16
MESSAGE:
In Bible days, there were no water closet systems. God had to give the Israelites specific instructions on how to dispose their body waste products in such a way that there would be no dirtiness in the camp. Western innovation has even made things easier but out of laziness or having formed a bad habit over time, some people still don’t maintain good hygiene. As a result, they fall sick repeatedly.
You can reduce the rate at which you fall sick and spend money on drugs by simply paying more attention to your personal hygiene and diet. Some teenagers go about their daily activities without cleaning their rooms. When you wake in the morning, dust and lay your bed, sweep the room before taking a bath.
When my children were younger, I always made sure that they cleaned their window blinds, fans, rearrange their wardrobes, change and wash the curtains at least twice every month. You may want to excuse your chores on the grounds of being too busy but setting aside one hour daily after your quiet time will help you achieve a clean environment to live in.
KEY POINT:
Pay attention to good hygiene.
HYMN: Nearer, My God
- Nearer, my God, to Thee,
nearer to thee!
E’en though it be a cross
that raiseth me,
still all my song shall be,
nearer, my God, - Though like the wanderer,
the sun gone down,
darkness be over me,
my rest a stone;
yet in my dreams I’d be
nearer, my God, to Thee; (2ce)
nearer to Thee! - There let the way appear,
steps unto heaven;
all that Thou sendest me,
in mercy given;
angels to beckon me
nearer, my God, to Thee; (2ce)
nearer to Thee! - Then with my waking thoughts
bright with Thy praise,
out of my stony griefs
Bethel I’ll raise;
so by my woes to be
nearer, my God, to Thee; (2ce)
nearer to Thee! - Or if, on joyful wing
cleaving the sky,
sun, moon, and stars forgot,
upward I fly,
still all my song shall be,
nearer, my God, to Thee; (2ce)
nearer to Thee!

1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
