Topic: Sin Sinks
Text: Psalm 9:15-17
15The heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken.
17The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.
Key Verse: “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.” Psalm 9:17
Message
Jesus tells us the story of a rich man in Luke chapter 16. This man was clothed in expensive clothes; he with his family also had more than enough food to eat. They were eating lavishly everyday with no regard for eternity. He was not concerned about those who were hungry like the poor Lazarus who sat at his gate every day.

Suddenly without announcement, death came and took him away. He was surprised to find himself in hell fire. It was then he realized that there was judgment at the end of a sinner’s life. The man did not sink into hell because of his riches, he perished because he forgot God. He had no regard for God and His word. By the time he realized that hell is real, it was too late.
Sin is defined as Satan’s Identification Number; it is dangerous and will sink the sinner into hell except he repents and turns from the way of destruction. God is kind and loving. He does not want the sinner to perish. This was the reason He made provision for you. Therefore, you must take steps to escape hell by repenting and turning away from your sin. Accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour

Prayer for today: Lord, I repent and surrender my life to You.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
