Message

Speech is a very important aspect of human existence and development. Parents are usually excited to hear their babies say their first words. Speech is one of the significant characteristics that differentiates humans from animals. During the life span of an individual, we learn with the help of speech to adapt to our environment. The things a person says can destroy or build him up. Marguerite Ellen Schumann, a writer wrote thus “Words can poison, words can heal. Words start and fight wars, but words make peace. Words lead people to the pinnacles of good and words can plunge people to the depth of evil.” Words can truly be very powerful and have huge impact on our lives.

Believers are to speak sound and healthy words that will benefit the hearers. Our words speak a lot about who we are. People can judge the state of your heart from the words that come out of your mouth. We should avoid speaking angry, foolish, blasphemous, filthy and corrupt words. Friends of Jesus should always speak the truth at all times and not exaggerate. Avoid speaking evil about people and the things of God. Always think before you say anything.

Prayer for today: Lord, help me to always please You with my words, character and in every aspect of my life.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
