DCLM Sincere Milk  3 April 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. KumuyiSpeedy Deliverance

Topic: Speedy Deliverance

Text: Psalm 31:1-5

1(To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.) In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.

2Bow down thine ear to me; deliver me speedily: be thou my strong rock, for an house of defence to save me.

3For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name’s sake lead me, and guide me.

4Pull me out of the net that they have laid privily for me: for thou art my strength.

5Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.

Key Verse: “Bow down thine ear to me; deliver me speedily: be thou my strong rock, for an house of defence to save me.” Psalm 31:2

Message

A young boy was trapped in a river when the boat he was travelling in capsized. He could not swim and so was sinking to the river bed. Then he cried aloud and suddenly a young man standing at the bank of the river heard him and with a speed of light jumped into the river to rescue him and he was saved. If the boy kept quiet and refused to cry aloud, he would have drowned.

The way the young boy in our story was saved is how the Lord is ready to deliver you in times of trouble. The psalmist understood the concept of God’s deliverance by a speed of light and he cried unto God to deliver him speedily. If you, like the psalmist cry unto God in time of trouble and difficulty, He will deliver you without delay. Cultivate the attitude of praying to God always. The problem with many children is that they find it difficult to pray. You can only learn to pray by praying. God desires to hear your tiny voice speak to Him everyday. Answer will come speedily as you pray.

Prayer for today: Lord, I call upon You, hear and deliver me speedily.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
