DCLM Higher Everyday 4 October 2024 — Sufficient Divine Supply

DCLM Higher Everyday 4 October 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. KumuyiSufficient Divine Supply

Topic: Sufficient Divine Supply

Text: Philippians 4:15-20

15Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.

16For even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity.

17Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.

18But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.

19But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

20Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Key Verse: “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).

Message

It is heartwarming to know that God is the source of our supply. His promises never fail. His resources are inexhaustible. The Lord supplied the needs of His people so that the Israelites lacked nothing in the wilderness. He provided water from the rock and gave them manna from heaven. God is the same now and ever. God miraculously fed the widow of Zarephath and her son in the days of Elijah. The barrel of flour did not run out neither did the cruse of oil fail. She had constant supply all through the period of famine. For three years running, there was neither rain nor cloud. It was hunger, anguish and death but this widow, her son and Prophet Elijah never suffered hunger. They lived joyfully and had abundance. So shall it be with you.

Economic recession, cash crunch, drought, negative situation and circumstances cannot cancel the word of God. Job 5:20 says, “In famine he shall redeem thee from death: … “Your bread shall be given you, and your water shall be sure.”

Quote: God is the source of our supply

Challenge: The Lord takes care of His children.

Prayer for today: Loving Father, I depend on You to provide for all my needs.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
