DCLM Sincere Milk 11 January 2022 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Tell your friends about Jesus

TOPIC: TELL YOUR FRIENDS ABOUT JESUS

TEXT: MARK 16:15-18

15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Key Verse: “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature”  (Mark 16:15)

MESSAGE:

When Jesus was leaving the earth to go back to heaven, He gave His disciples a very important assignment. He told them to tell people about Him and to proclaim His love to everyone that live around them or that they would have encounter with. This command is not only for the disciples of Jesus but for all friends of Jesus in every generation. Jesus wants you to tell your friends about Him.

Many people look happy on the outside but their hearts desire the kind of love that Jesus came to offer freely. They may not know how to connect with the love of Christ, but it is our job as God’s children to do just that. When next you are around people, do not keep quiet or talk about irrelevant things; tell them about Jesus who came to die for their sins on the cross at Calvary. Also, endeavour to show them how to become friends of Jesus. Rewards await every friend of Jesus that obeys this command while punishment awaits the disobedient.

Prayer:
Lord, give me the courage and boldness to preach the gospel to my friends today.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
