DCLM Higher Everyday 14 July 2025 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Testimony Time
Topic: Testimony Time
Text: 1 Timothy 1: 12-16
12And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;
14And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
15This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
16Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.
Key Verse: “And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me in the ministry” (1 Timothy 1:12).
Message
The high point of the life history of Apostle Paul was when he met Christ on the way to Damascus. This event so filled him with awe and joy that he often testified of it afterwards. In Damascus, “…straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God” (Acts 9:20). Before Festus and King Agrippa he so powerfully testified of Jesus and how He saved him, that King Agrippa declared that Paul had almost persuaded him to be a Christian (Acts 26:1-32). The story and testimony of the Samaritan woman that encountered Jesus at Jacob’s well is also very striking and it shows how excited a new convert should be in testifying about the Saviour. She was an adulteress, but on conversion, brought many Samaritans to believe in Jesus (John 4: 5-42).

In our text, Paul declared that he was a blasphemer, a persecutor, an injurious person and a sinner, but Christ graciously saved him and also put him in the ministry. Beloved, never hide your salvation story. It is the greatest testimony – tell it that others might believe.
Quote: Never hide your salvation story

Prayer for today: Lord, embolden me to testify of You.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
