DCLM Sincere Milk 6 June 2023 — The Lord Always Before Me

DCLM Sincere Milk  6 June 2023 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — The Lord Always Before Me

Topic: The Lord Always Before Me

Text:  Psalm 16:7-11

7I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.

8I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

9Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.

10For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

11Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Key Verse: “I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.” Psalm 16:8

Message

Many things and people are seeking for our attention. We are therefore confused which one we should really focus on or show interest in. What we think about or see often has a way of taking our attention and interest completely; and where interest is keen, memory is said to become almost photographic or accurate. What that means is that, it is very easy to remember clearly the person or something we have very strong interest in.

Our Bible passage tells us that there is Someone we must always think about, pay attention to and remember.

This is because such a Person has the power and the love to deliver us from trouble and provide all our needs. You must set the Lord always before you. Fix your attention always on what pleases Him. Choose to love and obey Him above all other people. He will lead you in the path of life; you will not fail and He will fill your heart with joy.

Prayer for today: I will always think of You. Lord, help me to remember and obey Your word always.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
