DCLM Higher Everyday 12 February 2026 — The All-Important Book
DCLM Higher Everyday 11 February 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — The All-Important Book
Topic: The All-Important Book
Text: Revelation 20:11-15
11And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
13And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
Key Verse: “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire” (Revelation 20:15).
Message
Several books have been written and some tagged as “best-selling”, “greatest”, “famous”, “popular”, etc. Of Course, some of them contain stories and/or information beneficial to our earthly living. But our text today reveals that there is an all-important book, the book of life, which contains the records of those who will enter heaven – a book for eternity. Billy Graham once referred to it as a supremely important book.

At the judgment seat, everyone that ever lived, small or great of every class, will be judged. Our text says there are two sets of books, one contains many books, while the other, the book of life, is just one. And anyone whose name is not found in the book of life will be thrown into the lake of fire. The book of life is a record of people who have given their lives to the Lord Jesus and accepted Him as their Saviour. These are those who have been spiritually converted. It is obedience to God that determines whose names should be written therein. Have you been converted? Is your name in this all-important book?
Quote: There is an all-important book
Challenge: Be sure your name is in the book of life.
Prayer for today: Lord, help me to be genuinely converted.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
