DCLM Sincere Milk March 2025 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — The Appointed Time
Topic: The Appointed Time
Text: Job 14:14-17
14If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.
15Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands.
16For now thou numberest my steps: dost thou not watch over my sin?
17My transgression is sealed up in a bag, and thou sewest up mine iniquity.
Key Verse: “If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.” Job 14:14
Message
A bus-stop is usually an interesting place and full of activities. You find some people who come there sluggishly; they are not really in a hurry. Such people pick and choose the vehicle to board. Whereas you find people struggling to catch any vehicle going their direction because they are already late. This set of people sometimes in their rush, enter the wrong bus. Some others would prefer to take taxis in order to meet up with their appointments. It all has to do with timing. Time is an important part of our lives. God is interested in the way we use our time here on earth. What have you done for God with your little life on earth? To God, every purpose of His has a time. It is a sad thing to miss the appointed time of God.

No matter the number of years we have to spend on earth, God has plans for those years. It is not even the length of time, but how well we live our lives. Like job confessed that He would wait till his change shall come, you must also wait for God. This means, you will make God’s word the centre of your life and obey His commands. Follow in Christ’s steps so as to live a life that pleases God and attracts His blessings.

Prayer for today: I will not miss God’s appointed time for my life.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
