Text: 2 Peter 1:5-9
5And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
6And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
7And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
8For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

Message
Virtue refers to good and desirable Christian character. Virtue in the lives of Christians is like growing a garden of good qualities that makes us more like Jesus. It is another boost that makes us become Christlike in our behaviour and general lifestyles.

Dorcas, a high school student in a community school was known for her kindness, honesty, and helpfulness. She was nice to everyone, and usually make friends with new students who are lonely. When Rachael, a new student, felt lonely, Dorcas got close to her and helped her settled down in school. Dorcas’s good deeds and virtues stood out, making others wonder what made her so special. Her kindness led many students to give their hearts to Jesus, making a big difference in her school.
Friends of Jesus, like Dorcas, are reminded to add virtue to their faith. It is not enough to just say we believe in Jesus; we must show it by being kind and loving to everyone. When we do, our actions can bring happiness and lead others to Jesus.

Prayer for today: Oh God, help me to live a life that draw people to Christ.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
