DCLM Higher Everyday 3 October 2022 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Purpose in partnership

TOPIC: PURPOSE IN PARTNERSHIP

TEXT: MARK 3:13-15

13And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him.

14And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,

15And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:

16And Simon he surnamed Peter;

MEMORY VERSE: “And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach” (MARK 3:14).

MESSAGE:

A human, as a social being, is by default created to associate with others. A common cliché says, ‘No man is an island’ and as such partnership is an integral component of humanity.

Partnership is an association between two or more people with a purpose of achieving a common goal. It may be for the purpose of academics, business, marriage or evangelism.

Christ exemplified the purpose in partnership with His disciples by having fellowship with them. As a believer, you are encouraged to surround yourself with people of like-precious faith for fellowship, comfort and support in challenging times. Christ also sent them forth to preach.

Our priority as believers in partnership should be to expand the kingdom of God on earth through all possible means. Jesus Christ is the greatest Partner of all time. He said, “Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you” (John 15:14). The call has come to you to make Christ your partner for life to prosper. Do it by surrendering your life to Him now.

QUOTE: Make Christ your Partner for life.

CHALLENGE: Become a co-labourer with God in His vineyard.

PRAYER: Oh God, help me to partner with your Son and prosper.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
