Topic: The Christian’s Boosts Part 6 – Godliness
Text: 2 Peter 1:5-9
5And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
6And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
7And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
8For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
Key Verse: “And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness.” 2 Peter 1:6
Message
Godliness means living like Jesus, showing His love in everything we do. It is about being kind, helpful, and loving, just like Jesus. Godliness makes us grow stronger in our faith and becoming more like our Saviour and Friend.

Little Mary was a shining light in her small community. Loving Jesus with all her heart, she lived peacefully, respectfully, and always pointing others to Christ. Mary was a brave heroine in her community because whenever she noticed something wrong, she spoke up bravely. Whether it was standing against bullies, stopping gossip, or fighting injustice, Mary was truthful and righteous. She was an exemplary and shining Christian in her neighborhood. Families started looking up to her, teaching their children to be like little Mary. They even nicknamed her “Jesus’ mother” because of her righteous life.
Believers are urged to keep growing in godliness. Our radiant example would encourage others to serve God with joy as our light continues to shine brightly.

Prayer for today: Lord Jesus, make me a shining light to the people around me.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
