DCLM Sincere Milk 9 December 2023 — The Faithful God

DCLM Sincere Milk  9 December 2023 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — The Faithful God

Topic: The Faithful God

Text: Psalm 89:33-37

33Nevertheless my lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail.

34My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.

35Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David.

36His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me.

37It shall be established for ever as the moon, and as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah.

Key Verse: “My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.” Psalm 89:34

Message

God is faithful. He is ever true to His word and does what He says. God is moved by His word and not I what you feel. Our feelings change but not the Word of God. Your understanding of this truth will help you to trust in His faithfulness, please Him and have your needs met.

God fulfilled His promise to Abraham by giving him a son. Although Abraham and his wife Sarah had passed the age of giving birth, and it was humanly impossible for them to have a child, God still did it for them because he promised them. After the world was destroyed by flood, God promised that He was not going to destroy the world again by flood and He has kept to His promise, even after thousands of years have passed.
Has God given you a promise? Be assured that God will be faithful and do as He says on the condition that you obey Him and do what He requires of you. Now that you have seen that God is ever faithful to His word, put the knowledge to use by believing His word, obeying them and praying to Him with full assurance that He will do just as He has promised.

Prayer for today: Dear Father, help me to always believe Yourword and trust You with all my heart.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
