Message

Today’s study concludes the teaching on spiritual gifts. Spiritual gifts are God-given abilities distributed to individual Christians by the Holy Spirit that help the Church to execute her mission on earth in fulfilment of God’s agenda. These gifts include the gift of working of miracles (supernatural power to do the incredible);the gift of prophecy (ability to teach and declare God’s will); the gift of discerning of spirits (ability to determine true message of God from that of the deceiver and Satan); the gift of speaking in divers kinds of tongues (ability to speak in unlearned and unknown languages in prayers and worship); and the gift of interpretation of tongues (ability to understand and interpret unknown languages to others). Men like Jahaziel (2 Chronicles 20:14-17), Apostles Peter (Acts 5:1-10) and Paul (1 Corinthians 14:18,19) manifested the gifts.

To receive these gifts, you must be baptized in the Holy Ghost. Also, you must ensure you possess the fruit of the Spirit. The gifts of the Spirit are to be used to glorify God and not self. Pray for your parents on this Global Day of Parents.

Quote: Spiritual gifts are God-given abilities.

Challenge: The gifts empower God’s children to fulfill His agenda.

Prayer for today: Father, give me the gifts to fulfill your purpose, in Jesus’ name.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
