DCLM Sincere Milk 26 April 2024 — The Key of Knowledge
DCLM Sincere Milk 26 April 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — The Key of Knowledge
Topic: The Key of Knowledge
Text: 2 Chronicles 1:6-13
6And Solomon went up thither to the brasen altar before the LORD, which was at the tabernacle of the congregation, and offered a thousand burnt offerings upon it.
7In that night did God appear unto Solomon, and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee.
8And Solomon said unto God, Thou hast shewed great mercy unto David my father, and hast made me to reign in his stead.
9Now, O LORD God, let thy promise unto David my father be established: for thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.
10Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?
11And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:
12Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.
13Then Solomon came from his journey to the high place that was at Gibeon to Jerusalem, from before the tabernacle of the congregation, and reigned over Israel.
Key Verse: “Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?” 2 Chronicles 1:10
Message
King Solomon who became the wisest king on earth got the key of knowledge by asking from God, the Source of knowledge. He needed to rule the people aright so he sought from God for wisdom. He did not ask for riches, wealth and power as some people will do today if they are given opportunity to ask what they want.

The word of God has given us the opportunity like Solomon to ask anything from God. Will you ask for wisdom or you will ask for money to buy bicycle, toys, biscuits, ice cream, football, clothes and shoes? Be like king Solomon and ask for wisdom, knowledge and understanding, then all the other things you want will be added unto you. Solomon did not only get wisdom; he got all other things he did not ask for. The same thing will happen to you if you seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matthew 6:33)

Prayer for today: Lord, I desire wisdom, knowledge and understanding and I ask that You give them to me.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
