Topic: The Living Water

Text: John 4:10-15

10Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

11The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?

12Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?

13Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:

14But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

15The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.

Key Verse: “Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.” John 4:10

Message

There are different kinds of water. There is city water, Tdistilled water, spring water, well water, purified water, mineral water, sparkling water, hard water, boiled water, filtered water, soft water, snow water, rain water, salt water, etc. Jesus talked about water but He did not refer to any of these kinds of water. He named a different water, as “living water”.

Living water is described as the words of eternal life, the message of salvation, the truth about God and His kingdom; it is the doctrines of the gospel. This “living water” is available to anyone who has a right relationship with the Almighty God. Children who have the desire may obtain the “living water”. The “living water” offered to the Samaritan woman was the Spirit of grace.

Today, Jesus offers us “living water”. We do not have to go anywhere to get this “living water”. Jesus is the Fountain of life and once we accept Him as our own personal Saviour and Lord, our life will be changed, we will have peace within our heart knowing that one day we will take our place in the heavenly mansion and forever be with Jesus.

Prayer for today: Jesus, I accept Your living water for my cleansing and salvation.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
