7And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:
8(For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)
9The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
Key Verse: “The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:” 2 Peter 2:9
Message
The godly and the unjust live together on earth. They may be children of the same parents, but they serve two different masters. They are walking in two separate paths and will arrive at two different places. The godly child trusts God and overcomes the test from Satan but, the unjust child submits to Satan and does his will. The unjust child may enjoy the pleasure of sin for a long time but, the day of God’s punishment is very near.
The godly children are faced with many temptations. They are tested and troubled from left and right and from within and without. Satan plans to make them sin and put the name of Jesus to shame. But if they, trust God and refuse to yield to temptation, God will deliver and bless them.
Are you tempted to do wrong at school or at home; to lie, cheat, fight back or even to steal? You must resist Satan, reject his suggestions and ask the Saviour to help you. The test of Satan will always come to you, but the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations.

Prayer for today: Lord, deliver me from all temptations and make me an overcomer.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
