TOPIC: The Persecuted [Open Heaven for Teens 11 January 2022]
MEMORISE: Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:10
READ: 1 Peter 4:12-14
12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
14 f ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.
MESSAGE:
I know God may have been giving you hints as to His purpose for your life. You may have been having dreams like Joseph did, about the glorious future God has in store for you. I want to let you know that your lifestyle now is what will determine if those dreams will come to pass or not.

Joseph saw his future and remained steadfast in holiness, even though he faced very tough situations. In the end, he achieved his dreams. Eli on the other hand, was also promised by God that he and his children would be priests forever, but because Eli honoured his children above God, the Lord appointed Samuel in his stead. I don’t want you to lose that glorious future God has in store for you and that’s why I am imploring you today to remain holy. Honour God with all that you have and all that you are. Obey all His instructions and do His will at all times. Run away from every appearance of sin. The devil will bring temptations, but you must overcome because if you fall, God will raise someone else to fulfill your dream. May God help you to overcome in Jesus’name.
ACTION POINT: Pray that strength and grace be released to all the Christians passing through persecution in the world today
HYMN: Sing hymn 19
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Matthew 9:18-38; Genesis 27-28

1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
