DCLM Daily Manna 6 October 2026 — The Power of Love

DCLM Daily Manna 6 October 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — The Power of Love

TOPIC: The Power of Love (DCLM Daily Manna 6 October 2026)

KEY VERSE: Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another – Romans 12:10

TEXT: Romans 12:9-21 (KJV)

9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.

10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;

12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;

13 Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.

14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.

15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.

16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.

17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.

18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.

21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:

Many people have become skilful in pretending to love others. They speak nicely and softly, but inwardly, they are full of scorn. They smile at others, but in their hearts, they are full of hatred. They know how not to hurt the feelings of other people openly, but secretly, they hack down their name and reputation. Pretence is not just a character flaw; it is a sin that hurts deeply.

There is no better way to conquer this vice than to learn to love others unconditionally. This will mean avoiding anything that has a semblance of evil or wickedness, and endeavouring only to be good to all. This is unfashionable in a world where competition, envy and greed are in full bloom. For believers, however, it is an imperative to love one another, give preference and honour to others, inspire others to be hardworking and fervent in the service of the Lord. Believers should not forget their greatest possession: a place in heaven. And for this, they should be full of joy, patiently bearing all trials, and be prayerful always.

The Lord expects believers to care for one another, provide for the the poor, needy and strangers, bless and never curse others, empathise with people, whether in happy or sad times. They should be in agreement with other believers, and not proud especially towards those not as endowed materially as themselves. Nor should they pay back evil for evil, but shun all forms of revenge, preferring instead to leave it to God. Honesty and peacefulness must characterise the lives of believers. They should help those who are undeserving of such deeds, and by so doing, overcome with good, the evil deeds of adversaries.

We are required by God not to be merely polite, but gracious, and show real and sincere love to others, especially fellow believers. We should, in practical ways, show love to those in need by giving willingly and sacrificially to them. This could be in the form of food for the hungry, room for the homeless, generally fending for those who cannot afford to help themselves. We should forgive all who offend us, never repay them in their own coins, nor seek to tactfully exact revenge on them. We should never fail to help other people because we think we are poor, or tired, or afraid, or have not been appreciated for past deeds. Instead, we should walk in the steps of Jesus Christ, who went about doing good to all.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
A helping hand, a gift, or a smile best define true love.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
