Text: 2 Peter 1:1-4
1Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:
2Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
3According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
4Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Message
Dan, who desired a beautiful smart wristwatch, asked his father to buy one for him. “Okay, I will,” his father said in response to his request. Dan’s father returned home in the evening with a gift pack that looked different from what Dan expected and handed it to him, just as he had promised. Dan quickly turned off the TV he was watching focussed and on unpacking the gift pack. After a few minutes, he got to the beautiful wristwatch and started singing “My father has kept his promise … oh, oh”

God goes above and beyond what our parents could do to keep His promises. All His promises are true. As today’s key verse has shown, His promise to make your heart holy and share with you His nature of purity is true. Just as He did for Enoch, Samuel, Noah, Paul and many others, He will do it for you too. All of God’s children can receive the gift of a holy heart, heart then pray to God to make your heart holy. Now is the time to pray for a pure heart and see that God’s promises are true.

Prayer for today: Dear Father, I believe your promise to make me holy, make my heart pure and holy.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
