DCLM Higher Everyday 7 March 2026 — The Realities In Life’s Journey

DCLM Higher Everyday 7 March 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — The Realities In Life’s Journey

Topic: The Realities In Life’s Journey

Text: Romans 8:24-28

24For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?

25But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

26Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

27And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Key Verse: “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28).

Message

Life is a journey, like travelling on a road; some roads are smooth, others are rough, and sometimes, we feel lost. But our text reminds us that even when we don’t see the full picture, God is working things out for our good. Our journey as believers is built on hope—hope that God has a plan for us, even when things seem uncertain. Sometimes, we struggle, face disappointments, or feel like giving up. But remember even when we don’t know what to pray for, the Holy Spirit helps us. God is always guiding us, even in silence.

As a believer, note that every struggle, setback or challenge on the road is leading you somewhere greater!  So, no matter how hard the road is today, trust God for something great awaits you after every trial. Do not forget to maintain a life of holiness and righteousness while you are going through hard times. Stay hopeful and reach out to your unbelieving friends who may be going through difficult times too but don’t know how to become friends of Jesus to receive help from Him.

Quote: Stay hopeful and reach out

Challenge: Believe in God at all times.

Prayer for today: Oh Lord, let all things work together for my good in my journey.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
