DCLM Sincere Milk 8 October 2026 — The Rewards Of Patience
DCLM Sincere Milk 8 October 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — The Rewards Of Patience
Topic: The Rewards Of Patience
Bible Reading: Psalm 40:1-5 (KJV)
1(To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.) I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
3And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.
4Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
5Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.
KEY VERSE: “I waited patiently for the LORD: and He inclined unto me, and heard my cry.” Psalm 40:1
Message
Children are generally impatient by nature. They want to be the C first to get into the school bus after closing hour, also the first to get down from the bus. When in the classroom, they want to be the first to finish the exercise given by the teacher, not minding how correct their work is. Sometimes, a mother prepares food for a hungry baby but while the food is still hot, the baby wants to take it not minding the burning effect on his tongue. Actually, impatience always has a harmful effect.
What is patience? Patience is the ability to wait, accept or bear with delays, problems, and sufferings without becoming annoyed or anxious. As friends of Jesus, one great virtue you must have is patience. In out text, the Psalmist said “I waited patiently for the LORD; …” Unlike the Psalmist, many friends of Jesus rush their daily Bible reading exercise, and they rush their prayer too. The result is that they gained nothing. It is a mark of respect to God to be patient when you are before Him reading your Bible, praying, or waiting to receive the answer to your prayer.
What are the rewards of patience? God always give the best to the patient child. Joseph waited for God’s time to be promoted and he got the best. God will answer your prayer and bring you out of serious trouble. He will make you to sing a song of victory and joy. He will deliver you from fear and anxiety. He will increase your trust in Him. There is no disappointment for all the children that wait for God and that wait on God.
Oh Lord, deliver me from every spirit of impatience.

Psalm 37:7-9
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
