Message

There was once a little girl who had a bad temper. To help her solve the problem, her mother gave her a bag of nail and told her that every time she feels angry, she must hammer a nail to the fence.

The first day the girl had driven 35 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as she learned to control her anger, the number of nails hammered gradually reduced. She discovered it was easier to hold her temper than to drive those nails into the fence. Finally, the day came when the girl did not lose her temper at all.

Over time she overcame the problem of anger and she was so happy. The mother then suggested the girl now pull out one nail for each day that she was able to control her temper.

The days passed and she happily told her mother that she has pulled out all the nails. The mother took her daughter by the hand and led her to the fence. She said “you have done well my daughter, but look at the holes in the fence, the fence will never be the same again.” “When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one.” This story reveals the danger of allowing the spirit of anger to grow in us.

If you have the problem of anger, pray now and confess to God. Ask Him to cleanse your heart and give you power to completely overcome the bad habit.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Lord, deliver me from the spirit of anger.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
