51He is the tower of salvation for his king: and sheweth mercy to his anointed, unto David, and to his seed for evermore.
Key Verse: “He is the tower of salvation for his king: and sheweth mercy to his anointed, unto David, and to his seed for evermore.” 2 Samuel 22:51
Message
A tower is a building raised far higher than all the surrounding ones. It consists of several storeys. They are generally flat on the top. In the olden days, cities were surrounded by very thick and high fences. A watchtower would then be built on top of these fences. This would enable the watchman to see very far. He would be able to see the enemies and inform the inhabitants of the city so that they could prepare for battle or hide and be saved from the army of the advancing enemy nation. It was also a hiding place for people to take refuge from their enemies or storm.

Salvation has a double meaning:
- Deliverance from physical harm and
- Deliverance from God’s eternal punishment in hell. Jesus is the Tower of salvation. In Him we find a hiding place, a shelter from all the evils in this world.
He is the Saviour from the punishment in hell.
Are you hiding in Jesus? Have you rejected sin and Satan? Are you a friend of Jesus and living in righteousness? You expose yourself to danger if you continue in your bad ways. Come to Jesus, and He will be your Tower of Salvation from all harm.

Prayer for today: Lord, thank You, for my soul has found a refuge in You alone.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
