DCLM Sincere Milk 7 October 2022 — The unknown hour

DCLM Sincere Milk 7 October 2022 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — The unknown hour

TOPIC: THE UNKNOWN HOUR

TEXT: LUKE 12:35-40

35Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;

36And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.

37Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.

38And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.

39And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.

40Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.

Key Verse: “Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not” (Luke 12:40).

MESSAGE:

Time waits for no one. A popular adage says “Make hay while the sun shines.” The coming of our Lord Jesus Christ is very close. Although nobody knows the hour or the time it will happen, the events and signs that the Bible talks about are already very visible.

Strange sicknesses and diseases, wars, killings and other terrible things are happening in the world. People are already blaming the government for all the terrible things happening in the world, but believers are not ignorant of the reality of the second coming of Jesus Christ.

The coming of the Lord is closer than we can imagine, there is no time for any Christian to be careless. All who desire to go with Jesus must ignore all the tempting attractions that the devil has brought into the world to entice people.

Athletes and sportsmen and women generally don’t joke with the final stage of a race or other sporting events. As Christians, preparation for the coming of Jesus should be the number one thing on our agenda. You should put off every worldly distraction and focus on the heavenly treasure.

This last hour should be spent to love God, His word and others around us, and making up our minds to make heaven no matter the cost. Remember, only those who are watchful and ready will go with Jesus.

Prayer: Help me Lord, to be watchful and ready all the time so that I will not miss the rapture.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
