TOPIC: THE VOICE OF GOD

TEXT: 1 CORINTHIANS 15:33, 34

33Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.

34Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

Key Verse: “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners” (1 Corinthians 15:33).

MESSAGE:
Ruth heard the voice within her, “Don’t ever say you did it, otherwise you will be punished.” At the same time, she heard another voice, “Tell the truth, even if you’ll get punished.” She went ahead and told her mom the truth. Although she was scolded, she was happy that she obeyed the voice of God that told her to tell the truth.

Today, children hear and listen to different things; some are good while some are bad. Our minds and lives go towards the direction of what we hear often. Remember, evil communications (voices) corrupt good manners. Friends of Jesus must be careful about what they watch and listen to, the books they read and the friends they keep.

Judas Iscariot yielded to the voice of Satan, betrayed Jesus and ended badly. Paul, the apostle, obeyed the voice of Jesus which he heard on his way to Damascus. He became a friend of Jesus, lived to please Jesus and ended well.

The voice you choose to obey will determine how your life will be. Choose to always obey the voice of Jesus, just like Paul did.

Prayer: Father, help me to live my life to please You in Jesus’ Name.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
