Topic: Winning Methods In Prayer

Text: Matthew 7:7-12

7Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

8For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

9Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?

10Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?

11If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

12Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

Key Verse: “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you” (Matthew 7:7).

Message

A story was told of a widow who was being oppressed by her adversary, and having no defender, approached a judge of the city to ASK for his help to win the case. After asking and the judge would not listen immediately, she continued to SEEK for his attention until the judge granted her request because, “by her continual coming” (to KNOCK), she could weary him (Luke 18:1-5).

This widow’s example is a winning method in prayer for anyone today who needs divine intervention. What is the matter of concern to you or someone close to you? You simply must A.S.K.

– ASK, in prayer in the name of Jesus, and receive for everyone that asks receives,

– SEEK, by prayer, and you will find solution just as everyone who did also found; and

– KNOCK, through prayer, until the door of blessing is opened to you like others too.

Remember that prayers of sinners are abominable to God. Therefore, ensure you are in good relationship with God. Those who don’t forgive their offenders may not receive answers unless they repent.

Quote: Ask and receive.

Challenge: You simply must A.S.K.

Prayer for today: Oh God, let me receive as I ask, in Jesus’ name.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
