Topic: The Way to the Father

Text: John 14:1-6

1Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

2In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

4And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

5Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?

6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Message

Thomas, one of the disciples of Jesus was interested in knowing the way to the Father. Jesus then gave him a firm answer that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. It is only through Jesus Christ we can approach God, there is no other way. Some people believe and preach that it is through Mary, the mother of Jesus that we can approach the Father. Some believe it is through Saint Peter or Paul, others believe it is through killing of ram, goat or fowl that they can approach God. But Jesus has made it clear that it is only through Him we can approach God.

Therefore, do not waste your time going through anyone to approach God. You have free access to the Father through prayer. Table your request to God and He will answer you. If you are still a sinner, you must repent, believe in Christ, and accept Him as your personal Saviour and Lord. Jesus only is the Way to our salvation, all spiritual and physical blessings and the way to heaven.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
