TOPIC: Worship Him! (DCLM Daily Manna 28 February 2022)
TEXT: Matthew 2:1-3 (KJV)
2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.
3 When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
KEY VERSE: “Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him” (MATTHEW 2:2).
MESSAGE:
You may have heard of Brother Lawrence, who in the 15th century penned the work “Practice the Presence of God”. When he was dying, he was asked, “What are you doing, Brother Lawrence?” His reply, “I’m doing what I plan to do through all eternity – worship God”.
The primary purpose of the visit of the wise men from the East was to pay homage to the newly born King of the Jews. Through a rising star, God had revealed to the wise men that a Dayspring had arisen for Israel and the entire humanity (Luke 1:78).

Today’s passage shows that it takes God and insight (wisdom) to recognise and worship Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews. A number of people living on earth today do not know and are not willing to acknowledge the Messiah whom God has sent to us. Like King Herod and all his subjects who were troubled, instead of being joyful like the wise men and the holy angels were, many ignorant folks often feel bad whenever they are presented with the good news about Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
The question before you today is what will you do with Jesus Christ? Pilate had problem resolving this question when confronted with it. Because he loved the praise and friendship of the Jews, he lost out in upholding all the truth he noticed and testified concerning Christ. Only wise men show readiness to search for Christ and to worship Him reverentially. What is your position on this matter and your present relationship with Him? When would you make a decision for Christ? Now is the acceptable time to receive Jesus. Tomorrow may be too late!
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
Only wise people seek Christ and worship Him.
THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
1 Corinthians 15-16

1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
