TOPIC: You Have A Part To Play (DCLM Daily Manna 6 May 2022)
TEXT: Job 22:21-30 (KJV)
21 Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee.
22 Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart.
23 If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shalt put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles.
24 Then shalt thou lay up gold as dust, and the gold of Ophir as the stones of the brooks.
25 Yea, the Almighty shall be thy defence, and thou shalt have plenty of silver.
26 For then shalt thou have thy delight in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God.
27 Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows.
28 Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.
29 When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.
30 He shall deliver the island of the innocent: and it is delivered by the pureness of thine hands.
KEY VERSE: “He shall deliver the island of the innocent: and it is delivered by the pureness of thine hands.” – (Job 22:30)
DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:
A wealthy American statesman got the best education for his male children and gave them special upbringing to help them become useful to themselves and society. Then in their adult lives as they entered public service, he deposited large sums of money in their bank accounts. He did so to make them financially independent, so that they would not be enticed by greed or lack to steal public funds. He told the world he had played his part. He expected his sons to play their part by being men of integrity.

God did far more for man at creation. He created us in His own image and made promises to suit all our circumstances. In our passage, we are reminded of some of these golden promises. He says prosperity will be our lot if we shun iniquity and take delight in Him. He will anoint our mouth with authority so that we shall enjoy automatic answer to our prayers. While others are falling, the one abiding with the Lord will stand.
However, man has a part to play. While God is ready to fulfil all His promises and willing to “deliver the island of the innocent,” the final deliverance would come as man plays his part by abhorring sin and living a holy life.
Humanity is in a lax condition. In spite of the many things that are competing with the place of God in our lives, He expects us to wholly obey His word and serve Him unreservedly. By so doing, all His plans and purposes for our lives will come to fruition.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
God has given us all things; you must give Him your best.
THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
1 Samuel 19-20

1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
