DCLM Sincere Milk 2 November 2022 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Your success in your hand
TOPIC: YOUR SUCCESS IN YOUR HAND
BIBLE TEXT: PROVERBS 12:23-27
23A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.
24The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.
25Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.
26The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduceth them.
27The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious.
KEY VERSE: “The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute” (Proverbs 12:24).
MESSAGE:
God created all things on earth and made human beings the head of all creatures. He created man in His own image and furnished him with all that he will need to succeed in life. He gave man a head with the brain, hands to work and create things, eyes and other sense organs for various functions.

The Psalmist looked at himself and praised God for His master piece architectural design in Psalm 139:14, “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” The human hand is a very important and serviceable part of the body. Our hands render a lot of service to the body, which include feeding, washing/cleaning, protection, defense, and a lot more. We also work with our hands. Failure and poverty are not far from such a person who has idle and lazy hands. As a Christian, use your hands to do good things to the glory of God.
People who are using their hands for wrong things, like stealing, fighting, writing/drawing bad things, touching unclean things, will go to hell if they refuse to repent. The sinful life is generally referred to as unclean hands in the Bible. *To get to heaven, you must have clean hands and a pure heart.
PRAYER: Lord, I dedicate my hands and my whole body to You, use me to do good things that will glorify You.

1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
