Message
Compensation refers to monetary payment or other rewards given to an individual in exchange for their services. In the 1 workplace, compensation is what is earned by employees. It includes salary or wages and other bonuses. In the world today, everyone wants to be compensated for their labour at work. Jesus had told His disciples the huge sacrifices that go with following Him and getting to heaven. Peter, who remembered that he and his brother Andrew left their home and fishing business to follow Jesus, wanted to know if they will be compensated. Jesus reassured Peter and other people that will follow Him of the manifold blessings here on earth and the privilege of heaven at last.

To give your life to Jesus and follow Him demands that you sacrifice worldly pleasures, positions and selfish pursuits; while you commit your time, talents and treasure to God’s service. In the game of soccer, when players are on the football field; they will sweat, labour and get bruises, but they look away from the pain and focus on the victory and the reward that follows. Usually, the football team coach is always on the side of the field to cheer and inspire his players. Likewise, our Great Master and Lord Jesus Christ, is with us always. He has promised to compensate us in this world with great blessings and equally take us to heaven at last.

Prayer for today: Lord Jesus, thank you for all that you have promised me, help me to endure and follow you till the end.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
