Topic: The Key
Text: Philippians 4:6-7
6Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Key Verse: “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” Philippians 4:6
Message
Dan forgot to take the entrance door’s spare key along with him when he left for rehearsal. Painfully, his m m had gone out obefore he got back home. Since he did not have the key with him, he had to endure hunger and wait for two hours for his mom to come back before he could have access to the house and eat his food. The key is very useful and its power and usefulness is seen when it is put to use. Prayer is the key to God’s store house of blessings. Likewise, its power and possibilities can be experienced when prayer is made to God in faith and from a clean heart.

Using the key of prayer, Elijah shut out rain from the earth for three and a half years such that there was no rain until he came to open the door of heaven with the same key of prayer (1 Kings 17 and 18). Problems disappear when we pray, grace to overcome temptations is given when we pray, miracles happen when we pray. Sinners are won to God when we pray for their salvation. Make up your mind to spend some minutes to pray daily, aside the time spent praying during the family devotion. Join other boys and girls who desire to see God do great things through them to pray.

Prayer for today: Dear Father, teach me and help me to make prayer a priority.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
