DCLM Daily Manna 14 December 2024 — Put Your Trust In God
DCLM Daily Manna 14 December 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Put Your Trust In God
TOPIC: Put Your Trust In God (DCLM Daily Manna 14 December 2024)
KEY VERSE: “Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us” (Psalm 62:8)
TEXT: Psalm 62:1-12 (KJV)
1 Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.
2 He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.
3 How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.
4 They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.
5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.
6 He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.
7 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.
9 Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.
10 Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.
11 God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.
12 Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.
DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:
The reaction of many people is predictable when adversities arise, when afflictions come, orwhen sickness strikes. They run up and down, seeking help from known and tested men and women of knowledge, wisdom and expertise. They spare no expense to obtain relief from the trouble. But many do not turn to God until all other sources have failed.

At this time, David fled from the rebellion hatched against him by his son, Absalom. Although he had fought and won many battles, he chose to flee. In doing this, he put all his trust in God to restore him to the throne. He waited for God’s intervention and salvation. God was his rock and defence; hence, he was not worried. He knew that with God, irrespective of how long the rebellion lasted, it would end badly for rebellious, dishonest and spiteful people whose goal was to overthrow him from power. He told himself to patiently trust God, who will grant his expectations.

He also urged people in similar situations to shun seeking solutions elsewhere but to “pour out your hearts (in prayer) before Him.” He knew that whatever the station of the adversary in life, lowly or highly placed, their efforts would end in vain. Therefore, it is best to trust God and not put confidence in prosperity when it comes. He said, “God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.”
When faced with challenges, praying to God is better than becoming worried and anxious. Prayer focuses the heart on God and frees you from the tension of emotional turmoil. Your trust is not in your wealth or the men of riches, power and honour in society; it is in God, who alone has the ultimate authority to change your situations in life.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Like Mount Zion, those who trust God are unmovable.

1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
