Message
True peace is a state of inner calmness and serenity, often described as a feeling of contentment and harmony, free from worry and anxiety, and associated with compassion, love, and forgiveness. According to our text, true peace is embedded in righteous living, and this can only be achieved through sincere acknowledgement of one’s sin, forsaking it, and accepting Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Saviour.
Simply put, you cannot have true peace without surrendering your life to God. When you allow Jesus to give you a new life, then Peace and its benefits become your portion. True Peace in Christ brings you improved mental and emotional well-being, as well as better relationships with God and others. Thus, it enhances your physical health, emotional stability, and focus, allowing you to concentrate without unnecessary distractions. It gives you a sense of security. Jesus Christ is the Prince of Peace. Ignorantly, many young people engage in alcoholism and the use of hard drugs to find peace, but end up in self-destruction. Surrender your heart fully unto Him, and you will have perfect peace.
Oh God, help me to surrender my life to You, in Jesus’ name.
Don’t give yourself to vices.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
