DCLM Sincere Milk 28 February 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Little Becomes Much

Topic: Little Becomes Much

Text: 2 Kings 4:1-7

1Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.

2And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.

3Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.

4And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full.

5So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out.

6And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.

7Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest.

Key Verse: “And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.” 2 Kings 4:6

Message

Our Bible passage tells a wonderful story of a poor widow who only had a little oil left. But with God’s help, that little oil became more than enough. It kept flowing until all her jars were filled to the brim. She was able to take care of her family and also paid up her debts.

When we give God even the little we have, He multiplies it. There is nothing too small for God to use. He wants us to use what we have for Him faithfully, and He will take care of the rest. Whatever talents or gifts you have (singing, drawing, designing, painting, caring, sewing, offering helping hands, sharing etc.) offer them to God and ask Him to guide you in using them. It might start small, but God will make it grow.

As friends of Jesus, believe that God can turn the small thing you have into big blessings and bring hope in tough times. He can also increase your wisdom, helping you excel in your academics and all areas of life.

Prayer for today: O Lord, increase my little talents to become blessings to the world.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
