DCLM Sincere Milk 29 April 2026 — Well Done

DCLM Sincere Milk  29 April 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Well Done

Topic: Well Done

Bible Reading: Philippians 4:14-17 (KJV)

14Notwithstanding ye have well done, that ye did communicate with my affliction.

15Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.

16For even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity.

17Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.

MEMORY VERSE: “Notwithstanding ye have well done, that ye did communicate with my affliction.”Philippians 4:14

Message

The rain was so heavy and everywhere was flooded. Martha did not see clearly the gutter in front of her house. As she stepped forward, she slipped into the swift running water and immediately shouted for help. Thank God for the newspaper vendor who was coming behind her. He quickly pulled Martha from the flood. Martha was very grateful to the vendor for a work well done. It is natural to feel happy and joyful when someone you have helped says, thank you and well done for your kindness and love.

Paul the Apostle went through all kinds of troubles: he was put in prison for preaching the love of Jesus to other people. Prison is not a good place to stay. There, you have no freedom and you are given very little food to eat. You are not permitted to see or even phone your loved ones freely. You are given prison uniform and all your beautiful dresses are taken away from you.

But the friends of Jesus in Philippi were not ashamed of Paul. They visited him, spoke comforting words to him and provided good foods for him to eat. Paul was grateful to them and he never forgot their kindness to him even when he was in Thessalonica. Kindness comforts and brings joy and relief to the person who receives it. Today, choose to do good to somebody. And be thankful to those who have shown kindness to you for a deed well done.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Lord, teach me to be kind to others and help me to be thankful to those who are kind to me.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
