DCLM Sincere Milk 30 April 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — The Empty Tomb
Topic: The Empty Tomb
Bible Reading: Matthew 28:1-6 (KJV)
1In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
3His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
4And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
5And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
6He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
7And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.
8And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.
MEMORY VERSE: “He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.” Matthew 28:6

On the third day after His burial, Jesus rose up triumphantly from the dead. It was the greatest event in the history of man. His resurrection brings to conclusion the plan of Salvation that God provided for all sinners. A school teacher gave an assignment to his students. He asked them to bring something as a symbol of the death and resurrection of Christ. The children with excitement brought beautiful pieces of art which the teacher admired. However, there was one child with a health condition known as down syndrome. Guess what he brought, an empty shell. Everyone in the class began to make jest of him. When the teacher asked him the reason for bringing the empty shell, his reply was amazing. He said “The grave is empty”, what an amazing testimony to the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The grave could not hold the body of Christ, He rose triumphantly the third day and the grave became empty. True symbol of Easter is a life that is empty of sin and its works.
Are you still a naughty child who is in the grave of sin and evil. You have to come out of sin and surrender your life to Jesus, Who has conquered sin on your behalf.
Lord, let your resurrection power quicken and make me come alive.

John 20:1-6
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
