DCLM Sincere Milk 13 May 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi —Punished For Rejecting God
Topic: Punished For Rejecting God
Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 10:5-10 (KJV)
5But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
7Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.
8Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
9Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.
10Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.
MEMORY VERSE: “But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness” 1 Corinthians 10:5
Message
Our Bible passage recalls how disappointed God was by the ungodly conduct of many of the children of Israel. God punished them for rejecting Him, the true and living God. They forsook God’s righteous way to serve dumb and lifeless idols. God had warned the children of Israel several times about the danger of rejecting His word. They disregarded the warnings and faced the grave consequences of their evil ways. It is a fearful thing to come under God’s punishment.
Examine yourself today, is God pleased with you, pleased with what you think in your heart, with the word you speak, pleased with the things you watch with your eyes and wear on your body? Is He pleased with the songs you sing and with the places you go? Those are the questions you should always ask yourself in everything you do. There is need for you to repent if your answer to these questions is no! ask God to forgive and wash your heart clean with the blood of Jesus. Turn away from sin and accept Jesus as your Personal Saviour and Lord. Then you will escape the punishment that will come on the disobedient children.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Heavenly Father, I pray that you save and deliver me from the coming judgment.

Psalm 9:17
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
