Bible Reading: Hebrews 12:12-17 (KJV)
12Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees;
14Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
15Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;
16Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.
17For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.
KEY VERSE: “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord” (Hebrews 12:14).
Message
There are historical Landmarks and Museums around the world that are impenetrable without entry tickets; the prominent ones are: The Louvre Museum (Paris, France); The British Museum (London, UK); The Acropolis of Athens (Greece); The Colosseum (Rome, Italy); The Yellowstone National Park (USA); The Serengeti National Park (Tanzania); The Kakadu National Park (Australia); The Disneyland (California, USA); amongst others. The entry tickets do not come cheap; they come with a price tag. In the same vein, Heaven, God’s abode, requires a ticket. “Holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord” (Hebrews 12:14).
Thinking of entry into heaven with your good works or religion or wealth, amounts to self-deceit. Jesus Christ is the Gate-Pass. Acts 10:43 says, “To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins”. As a youth, ensure you secure the valid ticket through genuine salvation and always live a holy life with heaven in view. Strive to enter! If you are sure of your entry ticket. You should be concerned about the sinful state of your loved ones.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Dear Jesus, I surrender to your Lordship for my entry ticket.
CHALLENGE
Strive to enter heaven.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
