Message

It is common these days to hear “It is boring” or “I am Ibored.” Dinah’s visit to see the daughters of the land possibly started because she felt bored. She might have thought that the other girls had more freedom to do whatever they wanted and were having fun.

Fun and excitement must not be sought at the expense of your soul. The story of Dinah’s careless visit ended on a sad note. She probably had the temporary fun that left a permanent scar on her life. She got defiled and many lives were lost on account of events that followed.Beware! God’s word admonishes that we must abstain from all appearance of evil. (1 Thessalonians 5:22). Why is that naughty boy/girl still your best friend, even though you know that should not be? Why do you still get involved in dirty jokes and worldly music? What of watching dirty things on TV and on the internet? What of dressing to expose your sensitive body parts? Don’t ignore the warning: “Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil.” (Exodus 23:2a)

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Dear Father, give me the courage and grace to run from everything that is against Your word.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
