17No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
KEY VERSE: “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD” (Isaiah 54:17).
Message
More than two decades ago the richest man in the most populous black nation died leaving behind a lot of money, companies, houses and so much for the children to share. About 103 people came up claiming to be children of the late rich man but the first born refused to share the property, and after about 25 years he told them to all go for DNA test. It was published in the news that the DNA test revealed that only 55 were the real children of his late father.
A lot of people today claim to be sons of God but the promises found in the text of today are for only true sons. Trying to learn the dressing, gait, and speech of the children of God doesn’t qualify a person as one. The true sons of God are saved by grace, and washed in the blood of the Lamb to have His true nature. Christ awaits the penitent sinner to receive and bestow His promises upon. Hence, no weapon of the enemy will prosper against you.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Oh God, search me and make me your child, in Jesus’ name.
Examine yourself today if you are a real child of God.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
