Topic: The Blackout
Bible Reading: Genesis 27:1-3,19-23 (KJV)
2And he said, Behold now, I am old, I know not the day of my death:
3Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison;
19And Jacob said unto his father, I am Esau thy firstborn; I have done according as thou badest me: arise, I pray thee, sit and eat of my venison, that thy soul may bless me.
20And Isaac said unto his son, How is it that thou hast found it so quickly, my son? And he said, Because the LORD thy God brought it to me.
21And Isaac said unto Jacob, Come near, I pray thee, that I may feel thee, my son, whether thou be my very son Esau or not.
22And Jacob went near unto Isaac his father; and he felt him, and said, The voice is Jacob’s voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau.
23And he discerned him not, because his hands were hairy, as his brother Esau’s hands: so he blessed him.
KEY VERSE: “And he discerned him not, because his hands were hairy, as his brother Esau’s hands: so he blessed him.” Genesis 27:23
Message
The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!” (Matthew 6:22-23) Little children hate staying in the dark and so they will scream and cry until something is done to take the darkness away. Ironically today, a lot of people live in darkness daily, thinking they are in the light; the Bible describes this as great darkness which will eventually lead to damnation.
Isaac the head of the family of four, had become physically blind because of his age. However, unlike Ahijah the prophet he has lost his spiritual insight that made it easy for people to deceive him. This lack of spiritual insight begins subtly when you live and talk carelessly, when you are prayerless, when you do not read and meditate on God’s word regularly, when it becomes normal to be absent from fellowship etc. Repent of your lukewarmness and loss of your first love for Christ so your fellowship with Christ can be restored.
Dear Lord, I repent of all lukewarmness, please receive and restore me back to your will.

Revelation 2:1-5
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
